I love when you’re staring down the barrel of a lackluster weekend and out of nowhere awesome plans fall in your lap. M & J were out of town, so I was expecting that it would just be a quiet weekend for T & I. But then Bryan hooked us up with free Sounders tickets on Saturday night and Erin texted us that she was going to be in town and we made plans for a Sunday run followed by brunch.
The Sounders are a huge deal in Seattle and T had been wanting to see them play, as he’s a pretty big soccer fan. I don’t really know that much about soccer, but I generally enjoy going to sporting events, more for the vibe than the actual game. Plus attending a game seems like a rite of passage for living in Seattle. The stadium is really nice and our seats were great:
The game itself was just okay. There was lots of running back and forth and booing for the refs/opposing players. (That part was fun.) Apparently, it was the place to be. One of my co-workers was at the game, so we met up with him at the half. We also ran into our landlord, who was wasted and surrounded by bimbos in box seats. (I’m glad to see our rent money is being put to good use… )
The fun continued on Sunday. We met Erin for an easy run from Gasworks park and then had a nice brunch with her and Timmion over in South Lake Union. We totally lucked out on the weather. It was sunny for our run, pouring rain for our drive/brunch and sunny again afterward. It was great to catch up with them and we had a great time. It turned out to be a pretty action-packed weekend.
